*By now, those who know Ruka have most likely been informed about her hospitalization due to an attack from Ghost. If you visit her, she's conscious and sitting up in her hospital bed. She looks tired though and she's covered in scrapes and bruises. Her left arm is also in a sling. Her medical chart shows that her left shoulder was fractured in the incident, but it seems to be the only major injury she's gotten, though she's under observation in-case there are any internal injuries.*

I didn't really expect it either. I thought they were just going after people on D-Wheels... if I thought I was at risk, I probably would of just walked to the library.

While traveling down to the library on my D-Board, I was approached by someone else on a D-Board as well. He looked about my age, maybe a little younger, he had long brown hair that was done up into a braid.
He knew things about me that not just anyone would know. Like the fact that I was a signer and that I wasn't from this time. I assume he had the same sort of profile on me that they had for Juudai-san.
He was making me feel uneasy, so I tried to move away from him, but that's when he force activated Speed World 2.
The monster he used in the duel, Skiel, it seemed like nothing could touch it... my traps would work against it's attacks, my attacks were blocked by the negation effects of some of the parts that it was made up of.
I thought even if I didn't win, maybe I could get some information out of him so I tried asking him some questions. He said he was searching for a solution for something, but wouldn't tell me what. I suggested that if he told us, maybe we could help, but his reply to that was odd... "Who said you aren't helping" I think is what he said.
If it wasn't for my spirits protecting me from his final attack, chances are I would of been more seriously injured than I was... maybe worse...
I'm pretty sure he was aiming to kill me.

*Ruka smiles a little at Niyo after this. She had felt like she hadn't helped the situation at all before now and that she didn't find out anything new, but she's glad that she did find something out that would be helpful to Niyo and the others.*

But how will we stop clashing with them when people use D-Wheels and D-Boards, not just as devices for dueling, but also as everyday modes of transport around the city?

Shortly afterwards, Rua barges into Ruka's room. He's holding a clipboard as if it were an instrument of violence.]
Ruka!

Rua!
*Then she looks a little puzzled at him*
...what was going on out there?

I'm just glad you're here.

"...Ruka, what the heck happened? I thought you were going to the library!"

He looked like he was only the same age as us.

...he shakes his head.] "Y'know what. I don't care why."
[He stands up.] "I'm not gonna let them get away with this."

*Ruka looks over at her brother, looking concerned*
...I could barely even scratch that monster he used. Any traps, spells or effects that target it don't work, it was also protected by negation effects that stopped me from destroying the parts that made it up. Not to mention that the monsters are also anti-synchro...
*Ruka turns her head slowly away from him, gazing down at the bedsheets, tears appearing in her eyes.*
...if it wasn't for the spirits protecting me from the final attack... he probably would of seriously injured me or worse...
...I don't want him to hurt you too.

[He seems to realize he's yelling when he sees Ruka's started crying. He runs a hand through his hair in frustration.]
"Mrngh...."
"I just don't want him to hurt anybody else..."

*Ruka falls silent as she thinks quietly to herself for a few seconds. Knowing the stubborn streak her brother has all too well, she knows that convincing him not to go after Ghost would be impossible... but she couldn't help but also admire his heart and courage, risking injury to himself in the hopes of stopping further injury to others. In the end, whether he goes or not would be Rua's choice on his own, Ruka knows she can't change that and the best she could do was support him somehow.
Wiping the tears from her eyes, she reaches over with her free arm, and picks up her scuffed duel disk from the bedside table, despite the slight pain it seems to give her doing so. Afterwards, she takes her deck out and spreads it out on the bed, picking out a select few cards. She holds them silently for a short while, her eyes closed, before opening them and holding the cards out to Rua*
If you do go after him, take these. You don't need to put them in your deck, just keep them on you in the duel.
They'll protect you like they did me.
*When Rua looks at the cards, he'll see they're cards like Regulus, Kuribon, Sunlight Unicorn and even Ancient Fairy Dragon herself, the cards known to have spirits in them*

But Ruka...these cards are your partners! I can't just take them!

I just want to make sure that you'll be okay.

"I'm gonna go and kick Ghost's stupid ass and everything will be fine, okay?"
no subject
Okay.
Just... be careful.
