My signer mark lit up with a burning sensation the other night. It's something that rarely happens these days.

I'm not sure what it means, or what caused it.
But somehow, it makes me feel uneasy.

I haven't felt anything like that for such a long time.

Yeah, this isn't something I usually feel... I think the last time I felt it was when that weird other Signer with the Black-Winged Dragon was going around?

But this was really different feeling. I wasn't even sure if I should mention it.

Hmn. I really hope it doesn't mean one of the other signers was in trouble.

I've already contacted my brother, Yusei and the others on my side and they're all fine.

I don't know... maybe it was just a fluke? But I can't help feeling a little concerned.

Hnmn... I dunno, do these marks really have "flukes"?

It's what I want to believe, but in reality... no, they don't.
Which is why I'm concerned that we suddenly felt this.

Well, why do these marks usually start going off?

Hmn. It's usually when another signer and their dragon are dueling an intense or dangerous battle.

The only other thing that really ever set them off was something that happened a long time ago, which isn't an issue now.

... Juuuuust for reference's sake, what is the "other thing that isn't an issue now"?

There was an issue, many years ago, where the signers at the time, including my group, had to battle a group called the Dark Signers.
Instead of being connected to Dragons like us, they were connected to powerful beings called 'Earthbound Immortals'.

Our marks would burn if we were near them, or if they dueled using their Earthbound's power. Things like that.
But the whole thing happened over ten years ago.

Hnmm...

I think I heard a little bit about that stuff from Red. Apparently my predecessor wasn't really keen on the whole business with it for whatever reason or another.

But if it happened over a decade ago, I guess it'd be weird for it to pop up again now, right?

Yeah. It's something that was solved and isn't an issue now.

I guess all we can do is keep vigilant and see if our marks react like that again at some point. If they do, then something is definitely going on.

I'm not too keen on the whole "sitting and waiting" idea, but there isn't too much else we can go on, huh.

Well, I'll say at least next time I feel the tattoo on my arm deciding it's burning time now.

It seems quite a few of us experienced it.

Make sure to tell someone if it happens again, Kamala-chan. Either me or Shian or anyone you trust.

I'm hoping it was nothing, but if it happens again, we know that something is setting them off.

That is... a bit concerning, I'll admit.

Yes. I'm really concerned about it too, but right now all we can do is wait and see if it happens again.

Yeah, all we can do and wait to see if anything happens to make it flare up again.

It's likely I'll need to contact Juudai, but in the meantime I might be able to at least see if there was anything suspicious that coincided with the mark flare-up. I feel like I would've caught on if it had been high-profile, though...

Ugh, either way, it's a bit of an issue.
